 I’d give The Red House 10 stars if I could!! 

It was incredibly comfortable, with lake views that were nothing short of extraordinary. 

The kitchen and house were fully stocked with everything you could possibly need. With four bedrooms and two and a half baths, it was wonderfully spacious and neat, Everything from the couch to the bedding and towels was clean and felt brand new!

For outdoor fun, there were plenty of “toys” to enjoy — two kayaks, a canoe, a row boat, and a stand-up paddleboard. The house even comes with it’s very own dock to just hang out on, 

Jerry, the owner, was wonderfully accommodating and just a genuinely delightful person to talk to.

My only complaint? One week wasn’t nearly enough — I wanted to stay all summer! Already counting down the days until I can book my next stay. Thank you Jerry for making my stay at The Red House a summer to remember ;-)

  My husband, brother and his wife and their four grandchildren stayed at the Red House.

There was plenty of room for everyone. The beds were comfortable and the lovely views of the lake could be seen from many places in the cabin. 

My favorite space was the screened in porch overlooking the lake. I enjoyed magical sunrises and sunsets from this spot.

 Jerry and his family were exceptionally accommodating and friendly. We are happy they shared their piece of heaven on earth with us.

Starting with the friendly and helpful welcome, our stay at the Red House was fantastic!!! The beds were comfortable, the house was spotless and well-maintained.

Although it was only just the two of us, the common area (living room/dining room) would be a great place for a family to hang out.

For us, the best part of the house was the screened in porch overlooking the beautiful lake. 

Even in the rain, we were able to enjoy the view of the lake. Jerry couldn't have been more helpful. 

It was a wonderful long weekend and we'll definitely go back.

For a Grandmother with 2 adult children, their spouses, and grandkids aged 5, 3, and 2, the Red House was a perfect place for our family’s week in the Berkshires. 

First the basics: Everything was clean and refreshingly simple, with a traditional cottage feeling. Bedrooms and bathrooms were newly decorated in calming white and gray. Our host was welcoming, gracious, and responsive.

But what makes the Red House a great spot for a family gathering? Spacious screened porch to read or chat, or just watch the light on the lake; large open living space with comfortable new sectional couch and table that seated us all; kitchen equipped with tools, pans, and pots for the cooking, grilling, and baking we enjoy when we’re together. Beds were great, bedrooms quiet.

The lake front and dock, only a few steps from the porch doors, suited our swimming and boating needs. Lake Buel was a reasonable size and depth for fun with our small motor boat and 2 brand-new kayaks. Thanks for a wonderful week!
